Shimmering Shutter (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website located at shimmeringshutter.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in two ways:
Information you provide directly — when you submit the contact form on our Site, we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- The type of photography session you are enquiring about
- Any additional information you choose to include in your message
Information collected automatically — when you visit the Site, certain technical information is collected automatically through analytics tools, including your approximate location, device type, browser, pages visited, and time spent on the Site. This information does not identify you personally.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect solely to:
- Respond to your enquiry and communicate with you about photography services
- Understand how visitors use our Site so we can improve it
- Maintain the security and performance of the Site
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. How your information is stored and transmitted
When you submit the contact form your information is transmitted securely via encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our contact form processing service, Resend (resend.com), which delivers your message to our email inbox. Resend processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy. Your information is not stored in any database by Shimmering Shutter beyond what exists in our email inbox.
Email correspondence you initiate with us at hello@shimmeringshutter.com is stored within our email account and is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was sent.
4. Analytics
We use the following analytics services to understand Site traffic and visitor behaviour:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — collects anonymised usage data including pages visited, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic location. Google may process this data in the United States. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc.) — collects anonymised traffic data at the network level. Cloudflare does not use cookies for analytics and does not track individual users across sites. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
5. Cookies
Our Site uses minimal cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. Cloudflare Analytics does not use cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality.
6. Third-party services
Our Site connects to the following third-party services:
- Instagram Graph API (Meta Platforms) — used to display our photography portfolio. Images are loaded from Instagram’s CDN. We do not collect or store any visitor data through this integration.
- Google Fonts (Google LLC) — used to load typefaces. Google may log the request including your IP address.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — our website is hosted and served through Cloudflare’s global network. Cloudflare processes network-level data to deliver and protect the Site.
7. Data retention
Contact form submissions are retained in our email inbox for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and maintain business records. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us.

10. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted through the Site. However no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
